Whitebeard’s Alliance

Whitebeard’s Alliance is a union of 43 known pirate gangs from the New World. They joined forces with the Whitebeard gang for the war against the Navy to save Portgas D. Ace. During the battle, Luffy’s Alliance joined this venture to help.

The highest goal issued was the release of Ace, who was condemned to death. Whitebeard, the commander-in-chief of the Armada, also gave orders and instructions within the battle in Marine Ford to achieve small milestones. For example, he ordered Little Oars Jr. to provide cover or Marco to watch out for Luffy. He also made some strategic decisions, such as adding Buggy and the Impel Down prisoners to his alliance, as they would have just slowed him down otherwise. He nipped a Marine-induced uprising of his allies in the bud. In the end, he wanted to save the lives of all his sons.

Ranking

All pirates of the alliance were subordinate to Whitebeard, who gave the orders. However, the individual gangs had a lot of leeway as far as the execution of the orders was concerned. The main goal and therefore the main order was the rescue of Ace, who was to be executed by the navy.
