Ryuboshi of One Piece

Ryuboshi is the second son of the royal family Neptune. He is the brother of Fukaboshi, Manboshi and Shirahoshi.

Appearance

Ryuboshi is an oarfish waterman and therefore the tallest of the three brothers. Besides his rather long and slender body, his large mouth and his long hair, which is combed into a long wave, are striking. As the only prince Ryuboshi covers his upper body. He wears a noble white shirt, which is tied at the hip by an orange sash. Like his brothers and sister, a ribbon extends from the sash, passing over his shoulders and ending back in the sash. This could be a sign of their royal status. He always carries two swords with him, which are stuck in the sash.

Personality

Ryuboshi sings to make Shirahoshi laugh.

Ryuboshi seems very easy-going and in a joking mood in almost all situations. He acquired this because in the past he always tried to keep his sister Shirahoshi happy in order to protect the Fishmen Island from their secret power.
It was only during the final battles against Hody Jones and his men that he was seen from his more serious side, as he did everything he could to protect his kingdom.

Skills & Strength

Ryuboshi is a master swordsman.

Ryuboshi and his two brothers are the commanders of the Neptune Army, so it can be assumed that they are all very strong. In battle, he uses two swords that he carries permanently. For example, along with his two brothers, he was able to defeat several Sea Kings with ease, and the New Fishmen pirates also required ES pills to keep up in battle. Hody Jones’ powers themselves far exceed Ryuboshi’s, however.

Past

Ryuboshi at his mother’s deathbed

After the birth of their sister Shirahoshi, Fukaboshi and his two brothers were given the task of looking after her, as their mother Otohime wanted to spread her views among the people.

Six years later, when the World Aristocrat Saint Mjosgard was stranded on Fish-Man Island and only saved from being murdered by the Fishmen by Otohime’s protection, the royal children were also present, with Shirahoshi beginning to cry, attracting several sea kings. After this incident, the queen accompanied the human to the surface to fight the hatred there as well, with Fukaboshi and the others eagerly awaiting their mother’s return. However, when she successfully returned to collect more signatures, her petition was burned and Otohime was gunned down. At their dying mother’s side, Fukaboshi and his brothers promised never to feel hatred towards humanity, and also to become strong fighters so they could always look out for their sister.

Present

Arrival of the straw hats

When Luffy and his gang reached Fish-Man Island and Sanji got such a nosebleed from the countless beauties courting him that he almost died, the princes also met the Straw Hat and his friends for the first time. Without further ado they took the royal boat and searched for help for Sanji in the harbour of the island. The princes were not very enthusiastic about this, after all they had received a message from Jinbe, which they wanted to deliver to the Straw Hat Boy.

A short time later, Ryuboshi and his brothers visited Madame Shyarly, having heard of her prophecy. To the princes’ regret, the fortune teller confirmed the prediction.

Fight in the Gyoncorde Plaza

The brothers get involved in the fight.

A little later, Ryuboshi and his brothers naturally overheard Hody Jones’ speech, whereupon they immediately headed to the battlefield to prevent the Great White Shark Fishman from executing their father and subjugating the kingdom.
When the battle began, the three brothers unceremoniously took out several sea kings to clear the way. As a result, Ryuboshi and Manboshi rescued their sister, who had placed herself in front of Vander Decken IX and the Noah to protect Fish-Man Island. However, the princess still fell into the clutches of Hody, as neither Ryuboshi nor his brothers could do anything against the pirate captain. The three brothers were tied to stakes next to Neptune, so it was ultimately up to Luffy to save the island.

After the rubber man succeeded, Ryuboshi and the other two princes took the New Fishmen pirate gang, as well as blankets, to their dungeon. Later, they too saw the Straw Hat Pirates off to the New World, vowing to never forget what was done for them and their kingdom.

Levely

As the Levely approached, Shirahoshi was asked if she would like to accompany her brothers to the Holy Land of Mary Geoise. She initially refused because she was too scared and didn’t want to break her promise to Luffy, but Fukaboshi still managed to convince her because of Otohime’s wish. Before they left the fish people island, they saw quite a few children walking around with straw hats. As per the guidelines, the royal family was escorted to Mary Geoise by the Navy – in their case, by former Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp. On their way up to the Holy Land, they were completely mesmerized by the endlessness and beauty of the sea and the surface. However, once in Mary Geoise, the royal family attracted a great deal of attention, especially the princess, who found many suitors. Unsettled by the many compliments, as well as marriage proposals, she retorted that the noble sons were not her type and fearing to upset someone, her brothers tried to defuse the situation with words before Shirahoshi befriended Rebecca and Vivi as she overheard their conversation about Luffy. Later, Saint Charlos wanted to make Shirahoshi his own, but was saved by Saint Mjosgard, who was deeply in debt to the royal family of Fishmen Island because of his shared past with Otohime.

At the end of the negotiations, the Neptune family was also accompanied on their way back by Garp. Garp informed them of the recent calamitous events concerning Arabasta.
