The Straw Hat Pirates goes ashore on the island of Ruluka. Henzo, a scientist who researches the Rainbow Nebula, also lives there.
While Nami, Sanji and Chopper are pursued in the city by Rake, the mayor’s grandson, Luffy and the others board a maneuverless galley with Henzo, drifting into the suddenly appeared Rainbow Nebula. Once there, they meet Henzo’s old friends Akibi, Rapa Nui, Bukau, Rongo, and Isoka, who, unlike Henzo, don’t seem to have aged a day.
With the help of the Rainbow Tower, Wetton, the mayor of Ruluka, manages to get into the Rainbow Nebula to steal the treasures. The explosion of the rainbow tower caused by Wetton creates a hole in the rainbow mist, through which Luffy and the others can escape.
