Storyline
After the naval ship explodes, Luffy lets the air out of him. In the process, he flies back into the bridge pillar. Once again, the side effect of Gear 3 is apparent: Luffy has shrunk into a dwarf. Since he was in Gear 3 for about a minute, he assumes he’ll stay small for about the same amount of time and better hide from Lucci during that time. The latter, still hovering in geppou over the whole situation, says that it would have spoiled his fun if Luffy had been killed in the explosion and makes his way back to the bridge pillar by means of Kamisori.
Meanwhile, the Giants, the King Bulls, the Franky Family and the Galley-La craftsmen have almost made it to the main gate.
Bridge of Hesitation: While Franky is shocked that the Navy is firing on their own people, Spandam tries to make him and Robin believe that Luffy, who was also on the ship until recently, is also dead. Further, he wants Franky to hand Robin over, who has been crouching behind him, trembling, since the Buster Call began. However, instead of following him, he only gets to feel the Strong Right of the cyborg. In return, Spandam then unwraps his devil-fruited sword Funkfreed to kill Robin with. However, the sword can be stopped by Franky with sheer physical strength just short of Robin’s face. The cyborg threatens the beast with his cannon that it should retract its trunk, which it eventually does.
Afterwards, Franky asks Robin if the Straw Hat Pirates were on their way to the bridge, to which Robin replies in the affirmative. He recalls how Tom saved him and Iceberg and how Franky tried to stop the sea train. He thinks that the World Government is very strong and powerful, and it’s unbelievable that the Straw Hats would still take it on to save one of their crew members. He himself has been thinking about Tom’s death every day and finally wants revenge. He grabs Funkfreed’s trunk and throws it at Spandam. Thanks to the Straw Hats, this opportunity has presented itself to him and, saying that he would give his second life for them, he attacks the remaining marines with Weapons Left to clear a path to the escape ship. Robin, meanwhile, has picked herself up and wants to help Franky. She figures she’s not alone now.
The two giants Oimo and Kashii have arrived at the main gate with the King Bulls, the rest of the craftsmen, and the Franky Family, but they are already met by three warships. Vice Admiral Strawberry, who is present on one of the warships, gives the order to wipe out the enemies.
Bridge of Hesitation, bridge pier: Lucci has already found Luffy, who is lying exhausted on the ground. The CP9 agent uses Kami-e Bushin, making him leaner. He is now faster and more agile, slamming the still small Luffy into a wall. The Straw Hat Captain tries to punch him, but that puny fist Luffy has only makes Lucci angrier, so he pushes him further into the wall. Luffy is now stuck in it and can’t move. Lucci goes for his Shigan Madara, but he can’t execute it because his legs have been affected by Luffy’s Gigantic Pistol. Meanwhile, Luffy’s normal size has returned and he is able to get out of the wall.
Meanwhile, the Straw Hats, Granny Kokoro, Chimney and Gonbe are in danger of drowning in the flooded tunnel. They already expect to die, but are suddenly pulled by something. Sanji recognizes a tail fin and thinks of a beautiful mermaid. But shockingly, they discover that it’s not a pretty mermaid, but Grandma Kokoro.
