Storyline
Onigashima, Kaidou’s Castle: After taking down two Numbers with Luffy, X. Drake requests to be allowed to continue fighting alongside the Straw Hats. Although Zoro, Franky, and Jinbe are clearly against it, Luffy summarily allows the Zoan user to join the alliance, to the astonishment of everyone listening. For this betrayal, Page One and Ulti, who are also present, immediately seek revenge, until the former is suddenly struck by Usopp’s Hissatsu Midori Boshi: Dokuro Bakuhatsu So. Shocked by this blow, Ulti excitedly searches for the culprit, when the two members of the “Flying Six” are confronted not only by Usopp, but also by Nami…
At the same time, Luffy and Sanji try to continue towards Kaidou when Scratchmen Apoo blocks their way. While they now know to cover their ears to avoid being hit by Apoo’s attacks, this makes it increasingly difficult to counterattack. To make matters worse, Apoo uses his control over the Numbers to summon Hatcha, who immediately begins rampaging through the rubble. In the process, he discovers Franky and Jinbe, being particularly intrigued by the Franky Shogun. Together, the two straw hats therefore want to lure the giant from the battlefield…
At the same moment, Zoro and X. Drake seem to have been forced to team up, again to take out Apoo so that their captain can continue to advance unhindered. But as they are overpowered together, Queen suddenly interferes as well, firing a machine gun at his opponents. Just as Drake is about to announce that such a weapon could never stop him, he is horrified to discover that the ammunition was Excite bullets…
Meanwhile on the roof: Jack collapses after Inuarashi’s attack as well as Nekomamushi’s in their Su Long forms. Because of this, Kaidou finally intervenes in the fight. With Jack’s subordinates and the rest of the Minks defeating each other, it’s now just the Emperor and the Akazaya facing off. Kaidou ultimately starts the fight with his Boro Breath as Kinemon takes the initiative. Using his Fox Fire style, he cuts his foe’s attack in half and lands a first hit with his sword in response. The now even angrier Kaidou is followed by nine warriors who say they’ve had enough of hiding. Instead they finally want to die together, while they drag Kaidou with them…!
Oda’s comment
Since the schedule has been adjusted due to Covid, we are trying for three chapters every four weeks or two chapters every three weeks. The goal is to reach chapter 1000 by the end of the year!
