Storyline
Aboard the Thousand Sunny: Everyone is shocked at the news that the revolutionary army has been devastated. Luffy in particular is naturally worried about his father Dragon and especially his brother Sabo. As it can be read, Baltigo was attacked and completely destroyed by the Blackbeard pirate gang. This eventually allowed the Navy and Cipher Pol to locate the island, but by the time they got there, the pirates had fled. As Pedro notes, there is no information on who or how many people were injured or killed, which is why it could very well be that Dragon and Sabo are fine. This also reassures Luffy, when suddenly a storm comes…
Meanwhile on Zou: Wanda and Inuarashi have also noticed that Carrot has secretly followed the Straw Hats, but they think they are in good hands with Luffy. The “Lord of the Day” is much more concerned that Kaidou might have a Vivre Card, which would let him find Zou at any time. He therefore hopes that it went down together with Jack’s fleet. As it turns out, the latter, still alive, is floating under the surface of the water…
On Another Island: At his base, Emperor Kaidou gets drunk and laments the loss of his Smile production, preventing him from expanding his army of Zoan Devil Fruit users. Furious, he turns to a dungeon and refers to everything the “Worst Generation” has done so far as nothing more than “little pirate games”. The person he’s talking to should therefore run and pass on that Luffy and Trafalgar Law will live to regret meddling in his affairs. This person, covered in blood, is the Eustass Kid…
Back on the Sunny: After the storm clears, the Straw Hat Pirates has landed in a snowy sea. Since Sanji is not with them, Luffy has been cooking, but has used up all the supplies…
A few days later aboard Big Mom’s ship: Sanji is in conversation with Baron Tamago, who tells him that they have now arrived in the Empress’s territory and that the white precipitation is not snow, but cotton candy. As he further reveals, all territories under Charlotte Linlin’s rule are closely monitored and any unknown ship is fired upon directly. At Tamago’s request to join the Big Mom pirate gang just like his father did with the Germa 66, Sanji replies that he finished with that man a long time ago and only boarded to talk. Vito then joins the conversation to show the Cook a picture of his soon-to-be-wife. The latter, of course, still flatly refuses to marry. At this moment he looks at the picture of the beautiful 35th daughter of the Charlotte family; Charlotte Pudding…
Miscellaneous
- In Weekly Shōnen Jump, the title of the chapter was “Playing Pirate” (jap. 海賊ごっこ, Kaizoku Gokko) in reference to Kaidou’s opinion of the “Worst Generation”. Then in volume 82, the title was changed to refer to the “Luffy-style curry” he cooked.
