Caribou’s Kehihihi in the New World, Part 21: “Extremely interesting – what is this island, a weapons factory?”
Caribou has entered a building where weapons are made.
Storyline
The Straw Hat Pirates and Law have reached a point where the Sunny can dock and enter the island.
Luffy has an idea and wants to explore the island flying on Momonosuke, whereupon Momonosuke explains that he can’t and doesn’t want to fly, even though Luffy claims otherwise. A fight ensues between Luffy and Momonosuke, which is interrupted by Kinemon: Momonosuke should show more respect to the one who saved their lives. Momonosuke then seeks shelter with Nami again, which infuriates Sanji, Brook, and Kinemon.
Franky reminds the gang that they should dress up to enter the island, to which Kinemon claims that women on this island all walk around naked, which pleases Sanji a lot, but Nami doesn’t like it at all.
Law hands Nami part of a Vivre Card, pointing in the direction of Zou Island, where Law’s gang is waiting.
Law shows the Alliance a map of the island, explaining that Green Bit can only be reached by a bridge from Dress Rosa, and the Alliance splits into three groups:
Law, Robin and Usopp are handed over to Caesar.
Chopper, Brook, Nami and Momonosuke will stay behind and protect the ship.
Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Franky and Kinemon will destroy the factory and search for the samurai.
The island is known for its fragrant flowers and cuisine, its never-ending dances and the toys that live in harmony with the people.
Luffy’s group, meanwhile, arrives in Acacia, where these same Living Toys are walking the streets with humans. They observe a doll whose arm has been stolen by a dog, and witness a man being stabbed to death by his wife: The latter had cheated on his wife.
Luffy decides to get something to eat first; the group sits down in a restaurant with a casino. The group has disguised themselves with black clothes, hats, and absurd beards to avoid being recognized. When Luffy wants to ask a passerby something, he is held back by Sanji: He was just in the paper this morning, people would recognize him too quickly.
While the group dines, they watch as an old blind man at a roulette table is lied to, saying he lost even though he won. When he bets all his money and wins again, his fellow players try to lie to him again, but Luffy tells him the truth.
While the teammates protest that he should stay out of it, the old man asks Luffy if he is telling the truth, to which he replies in the affirmative. He then asks Luffy to step aside, saying he will send them to hell, whereupon the men are first pressed to the ground until the ground opens up beneath them and swallows them….
