A two-page color spread featuring Luffy, Usopp, Robin, Chopper, and Sanji dressed in more western-style clothing and riding a lizard.
Now that the four mysterious ones have arrived in Oars’s cold room, Gecko Moria wants to finally plant Luffy’s shadow in Oars, which he eventually does. Nami, Usopp, and Chopper, still squatting in Kumashi’s belly, are deeply frightened by this. Slowly, Luffy’s shadow disappears inside Oars, leaving everyone very tense.
When the shadow is completely gone, the giant moves. Suddenly Oars opens his eyes, which throws Nami, Usopp and Chopper out of Kumashi’s belly in fear. Now they’ve been discovered, Absalom immediately wants his “bride-to-be” Nami back.
Dr. Hogback is totally excited about the special zombie Oars. Oars then roars out, demanding flesh with a loud scream that makes the entire Thriller Bark tremble. This, he demands, he wants from Sanji. Nami, Usopp and Chopper take advantage of this and escape.
They piece together the puzzle of the riddles and now know how the zombies were made and brought to life. This ability, they surmise, must have been given to Moria by a devil fruit. They have also realized that there is still a fraction of personality left in the shadows, and know that the samurai they encountered in Hogback’s lab includes Brook’s shadow and Inuppe Sanji’s shadow. They also overheard the conversation between Absalom and the Spider Mice and know that Luffy is now with the Thousand Sunny and head for it immediately. Usopp and Chopper are suddenly caught in an explosion and go down. Absalom, who immediately gave chase, is in front of the three and captures Nami.
Usopp tries to free them with a projectile, but is attacked by a zombie general. Suddenly, zombies come from all corners and attack them. All of a sudden, however, the zombies lose their shadows, because Franky and Robin have come to the rescue and beat the creatures back with salt. But then Franky and Robin notice that Nami is no longer with them.
