Motzel is an overweight man with a broad face, a large mouth, and fair hair. He wears his hair with an exact center parting and it is curled up at his ears. In addition, he has thick eyebrows and a flat nose. He wears a purple shirt with a floral pattern and had tied a napkin around his neck for dinner.

Motzel was a guest at the Baratié with his daughter when Fullbody and Moodie dined there and the Straw Hat Pirates docked there. When his daughter turned to Fullbody and Moodie’s table, he pilfered the food from her plate. Following this, his daughter had a fight with him.
This fact only occurs in the anime.
He is/was a great admirer of Fullbody, calling him a very elegant man.
