While Princess Vivi was just beginning her speech to the people after surviving the civil war, the Straw Hat Pirates was engaged in skirmishes with naval ships that were still pursuing them after breaking out of Hina Blackcage’s Blackcage Formation. Lieutenant McCoe commanded one of the pursuing ships and instructed his soldiers to capture the Straw Hat Pirates. However, the latter was too strong and sank some of the ships.
Miscellaneous
- His name was not revealed until One Piece Blue. However, McCoe is referred to as a Rear Admiral there.
- He doesn’t make an appearance in the anime, as the chase there takes place at a different time and Vivi’s speech is heard in the foreground.
